Liao Qian 廖倩

Liao Qian is a visual artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Born in Guangzhou, China, raised in Singapore and Shanghai, Qian relocated to the US when she was eighteen to pursue her artist dream. As a Chinese bilingual and multicultural artist, Qian is devoted to making art that resonate across differences.

Her works have been exhibited in galleries such as Latitude Gallery (New York), The Wurks Gallery (Providence, RI) and Woods Gerry Gallery (Providence, RI), as well as unconventional spaces such as Beijing Amcare Healthcare Hospital, Accent Temple (a pop up space organized by Accent Sisters) and OJBK tea shop (a now closed bubble tea shop in Brooklyn, NY). Her works have been featured on numerous publications such as New Glass Review 43, the Paper News (澎湃新闻) and Artron News (雅昌艺术网). She received a residency from The Steel Yard (Providence, RI) in 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Rhode Island School of Design.

Qian is currently working on a show opening mid-May, 2026 at Gibney 280 Broadway (a dance community center).
