Qian Liao is an artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Born in Guangzhou, China, raised in Singapore and Shanghai, Qian relocated to the US when she was eighteen to pursue her artist dream. As a bilingual and multicultural artist, Qian is devoted to making art that resonates across differences.
Her works have been exhibited in public spaces such as Clyde Romero Memorial Garden (Manhattan, New York City), Gibney Dance (Manhattan, New York City) and Beijing Amcare Healthcare Hospital, as well as gallery spaces such as Latitude Gallery (New York), The Wurks Gallery (Providence, RI) and Woods Gerry Gallery (Providence, RI). Her works have been featured on numerous publications in the US and China such as New Glass Review 43, the Paper News (澎湃新闻) and Artron News (雅昌艺术网). She received an artist residency from The Steel Yard (Providence, RI) in 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Rhode Island School of Design.
