Liao Qian 廖倩 is a visual artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Raised in Singapore and Shanghai, she relocated to the US when she was 18 to pursue her artist dream. Her works have been exhibited in galleries in Europe, US, and China, including Boomer Gallery (London), Latitude Gallery (New York), Hoffen Gallery (Shanghai), and Woods Gerry Gallery (Providence, RI). In 2020, she held a solo show titled A Place To Land in Rhode Island and received overwhelmingly positive critical feedback. She’s been awarded several critically acclaimed residencies, including the Steel Yard (Providence, RI) and Vermont Studio Center (Johnson, VT). As a Chinese bilingual & multicultural artist, Liao Qian is devoted to investigating the powers of image-making & non-verbal communication.
